Cammie Bertram is a dynamic leader within the educational consulting community as a result of the informed advice she provides her client families. For nearly thirty years she has worked with students at the junior, secondary, and college levels.

She also has a well-deserved and respected reputation for her expertise in advising families with a child in need of a therapeutic setting.

Cammie is gifted at getting to know her client families as well as their goals and aspirations in order to make sound, appropriate school recommendations. Families and fellow consultants regularly comment on Cammie’s values and empathy and her gold standard of excellence, ethics, and best practices.

Cammie is a past board member of numerous organizations and has spoken at national and regional forums on education and educational directions. Having grown up at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, she developed a passion for private, independent education and the academic and residential benefits that result. She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Recipient of the
Everett E. Gourley Award

In 2017 Cammie was named the recipient of the Everett E. Gourley award from the Enrollment Management Association at their Annual Conference in New Orleans.

The award, named for Everett Gourley, former director of admission and assistant headmaster at the Asheville School (NC), is given each year to the educator whose interest in students and concern for colleagues is an inspiration to those who serve in admission. In her work Cammie strives to find each student a school or program where he or she can experience success on every level: academically, socially, and emotionally.

As he presented the award to Cammie, Tom Southworth of Southworth Educational Consulting, LLC (RI), quoted Jon Deveaux, dean of admission and enrollment management at Westminster School (CT): “Cammie is not only one of the best consultants I know, but one of the best people I know. She cares passionately about people: her students, their families, her colleagues in schools, her friends, and especially her family. I feel incredibly fortunate to call her a colleague, and more meaningfully, a friend.”

  • "What instantly comes to mind when I think of Cammie is being greeted with a smile. She glows from her heart. As admission professionals we know the natural smile versus the forced. Cammie's is perfectly natural."
  • "Cammie has been one of the guiding lights who always found time to support me since I first entered this profession. Cammie has an unquestionable desire to support the students with whom she works. At the same time she cared for my own children as if they were her own. In so many ways we are all better at what we do when Cammie is around. She is one of those people to whom I will be forever indebted."
  • "Cammie is not only one of the best consultants I know, but one of the best people I know. She cares passionately about people: her students, their families, her colleagues in schools, her friends, and especially her family. And she treats all of them with love and respect. I feel incredibly fortunate to call her a colleague, and more meaningfully, a friend."
  • "When I think of Cammie, I think of the ultimate professional and colleague. She is brilliant, funny, witty, caring, and one of the best listeners I know. A Sacred Heart sister, the stories the two of us have in common will stay between us. Cammie brightens up a room; she commands an audience without even trying. Conferences and gatherings are not complete without her. I am so lucky to have such an amazing woman in my life."
  • I'm sure our dearest mutual friend, the late Ferdie Wandelt, had you in mind when he wrote,

"A mentor is often older, but not necessarily wiser. Always a good listener, but ever ready with advice. She speaks of possibilities and choices. She is honest, forthright, and without judgement. She never seeks thanks or praise, but finds gratification in having offered another guidance."
  • Cammie, you are not just a mentor to me but have shared my times of joy, offered a shoulder when I had tears, and simply been present for me as a true friend. This is a moment for me to say a deeply heartfelt, public "Thank you." I know I say that for countless others as well.
